Our Projects
What We’re Working On
Centro Escolar Santa Cruz Chatascal de San Pedro Nonualco.
About the School
Centro Escolar Santa Cruz Chatascal accommodates approximately 100 students from the surrounding areas. Grades 1 to 6 attend in the morning, and grades 7 to 9 attend in the afternoon. Most of the students’ families live in poverty. They typically earn a living by working in sugar cane fields or as street vendors. The school receives very little funding from the school board or the government.
Achievements
We’re in the process of helping to make improvements to the school that will benefit students and enhance the quality of their education. The school does not have access to several basic resources, such as computers, film projectors, and internet access, and they have limited access to clean drinking water and sanitary facilities. We are working on a solution to meet these needs. The school is also in need of extensive renovations and the addition of a library and theatre stage. Completion of his project will provide a safe and healthy learning environment.
